Geography Department offers array of classes

Tracking environmental changes and studying tree growth in places like Peru by using computers and satellites is just one of the areas of research taking place in the UNT geography department.

Classes in the program include global environmental change, map-air photo analysis, applied retail geography, and economics of natural resources and environment. There are also classes that allow students to do field work in the British Isles and in Ghana.

"Geography is one of the few disciplines that bridges social and natural sciences," geography professor Alexandra Ponette-Gonzalez said. "You can be interested in humanities or even in computer science, and you can do it all."
